Welles Park, Chicago, IL
This brand new park is in one of my favourite neighborhoods in the city. There's always something going on, and music is usually involved due to the park's proximity to the Old Town School of Folk Music. However, the one negative about the area is lack of true diversity. This is the first park we've been to where the only people of colour are my kids and the nannies of other children. I'm not sure what message that sends, but it sort of freaks me out. Anyway, the park is lots of fun, with several cool monkey bars, drums for the kids to bang on, lots of swings, a very cool multi-kid see-saw, and a periscope that Elijah thought was hilarious. There's even a splash pad for warmer days.
